Miner's genre of novels leans toward supernatural mysteries. Card Shark is a supernatural murder mystery. The Fallen is a supernatural mystery similar to an Aesop's Fable-style story. Miner's characters come to life in her writing. The reader feels that they are transported into the book as they read.
Currently, Miner is working on another book. An excerpt may be read by scrolling down to the bottom of this page.

Review of The Fallen
Your book, The Fallen, has made such an impression upon me. My love for humanity has been rekindled and my awareness heightened by reading it.
It may seem like a fiction novel, but the spiritual impact it carries, caused me to see that it indeed contains a greater truth.
The characters in your book have come to life in the faces of those I love; even in those I do not understand or particularly enjoy being around, because now I know and recognize them as kindred spirits. Already, I feel less judgmental and more compassionate towards those who have forgotten who they are.
You’ve bravely delved into a place of pain where we abuse ourselves and others by the choices we make. Your book will help many realize that all of life is about choice and free will. Hopefully humanity will begin to make better choices that will bring peace to this planet rather than continuing to destroy it with hatred and retaliation.
Thank you so much for sharing your book, your love and your heart with me and all your readers.

Review of Card Shark
Gigi Miner weaves a tapestry of emotions, intrigue, and suspense in this mystery novel. Her characters come alive, as real as people that cross our path in this life. I can’t help but nod my head in agreement with some of the characters as they play out their roles. In my head, the characters sounds familiar. I‘ve met some of them.
The office interaction is realistic, she demonstrates the variety of psyches that make up the workplace, where everyone has a role, individual with their quirks and talents, yet part of the whole system.
The main character, in the person of Mahin, seems like an enigma to me- frail and fragile with her medical problems and emotional state. Yet, an inner strength comes forth as she deals with uncertainties and especially when she is face to face with danger. Quite a heroine.
Adding an element of paranormal/ metaphysical aspect will pique the minds of believers and skeptics alike. This part of the novel is informative, actually very interesting. The use of descriptive language is not boring. I like the way the novel flows from one scene to the next.
There is something for everyone. Pet lovers will feel how the novel evokes and re-enforces their affection for their chosen pets. It confirms the belief that pets are good communicators. Card Shark is a great read!

Excerpt from Gigi Miner's next novel:
Chapter 1
She could feel them breathing on her neck as she ran. Obstacles seemed to leap into place to hinder her escape. Glancing over her shoulder, she could see only their outline in the strange light. Her legs began to feel heavy. No, not now! This was not the first time that she had been pursued. It was not the first time that her body wanted to quit before she could find safety.
Leaping over a hole, panting wildly, she ducked behind a wall. She could hear their footsteps getting louder, closer. She tried to catch her breath but it, too, seemed to be hiding. As she tried to crawl away, she felt them grab her leg. Kicking, she tried to pull away and claw forward. They dragged her backwards. As she opened her mouth to scream, her voice was silent.
Sitting up in the bed, Líadan started to cry. No one ever rescued her in her dreams. No one ever rescued her in her life. Now, the loneliness crept over her like a fog in a bad movie. Falling back onto the pillow, Líadan huffed out all of her anxiety into the bedroom air. She looked around, trying to regain her earthly existence. Dreams such as these left her feeling lost and disconnected. Soon, however, a furry face peeked up from the foot of the bed, softly mewing reassurance. When that did not seem to do the trick, Freyja walked the length of her mistress’ body and perched atop her chest, cleaning her face with a paw. How could life be so bad if this little feline did not think it so?
After much petting, Frayja decided that it was time to be fed and leapt from the bed. Líadan did not feel like getting up. The loud meow from the hall spurred her to move. Donning robe and slippers, she made her way downstairs and pulled out a can of the stinkiest cat food that she could find. After dumping that into the appointed bowl, she pulled a diet soda from the fridge and made her way to her office. She took her first sip as the computer booted. Closing her eyes, she waited for the caffeine to begin to move through her system. A beep from the machine brought her mind back to the task at hand.
Líadan clicked the email icon. She watched as dozens of emails sent themselves to the junk-mail bin. She smiled and mentally patted herself on the back for installing that feature. Scanning the inbox, she found an email from her agent.
“Not again. No, I do not have it ready yet.” Answering the question before she even opened the email, Líadan knew that she should buckle down and do the writing. Still, she could not understand how writing her memoirs would ever sell. Besides, writing meant that she had to admit that they were real. Up until now, she could pretend that her past was just a bad dream, much like the one to which she had awakened.
